Vehicle Dynamics Engineer

Responsibilities
Define and detail the vehicle-level acceptance criteria for Vehicle Dynamics functions (Ride, Handling, Stability Control, and Steering)
Lead/support the development of verification methods and verification plans
Collaborate with global functional partners to meet system and vehicle level performance requirements
Cascade system-level requirements to functional partners
Lead/support the development and sign-off of the vehicle dynamics performance for the vehicle programs
Support feature calibration studies to satisfy vehicle-level performance requirements
Develop pre/post processing tools using MATLAB and CAN tools for data collection and analysis
Find opportunities to utilize Simulator, HIL and CAE for feature tuning and performance verification
Plan and execute real-world evaluations via vehicle/HIL/Virtual testing and identify system problems and issues
Support and coordinate root-cause analysis with internal functions and external suppliers to ensure delivered system achieves feature requirements
With provided training drive limit handling maneuverers
Travel to support off-site development trips (significant travel during winter months and minimal travel the remainder of the year)
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Computer Science
1+ year of experience with Suspension Tuning, Calibration, Controls and/or CAE of Dynamic Systems
Preferred
Deep understanding of vehicle dynamics principles
A proven ability to tune vehicle systems in real-world scenarios, and expertise in leveraging simulation tools for development and analysis
Master's Degree in Engineering or Computer Science
Experience applying Systems Engineering principles
Experience with testing methods
Strong problem solving skills
Experience using typical automotive interfaces (e.g. CAN, CANFD, Autosar, Auto-Ethernet, etc.)
Experience using Vector CANape, Vector CANalyzer, ATI VISION, ETAS INCA or similar tools
Experience with Matlab/Simulink
Experience with CarSim, MSC Adams or similar tools
Experience in verification techniques (e.g. design verification methods, vehicle data acquisition/analysis, etc.)
Experience with virtual validation methods (e.g. HIL, MIL, SIL, DIL etc.)
Strong leadership skills, passion for quality, passion to improve customer happiness
Good communications and project management skills
Ability to take initiative and work independently
Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
