Responsibilities

Conducting mechanical tests on specialized equipment (e.g., hardness, tension, tensile, resistivity)

Performing metallographic and magnetic tests using etchants, polishing tools, and specialized equipment

Collecting and recording test data during evaluations and making recommendations based on findings

Directing, training, and coordinating day-to-day activities within the Metallurgical Lab for the assigned testing area

Developing knowledge of procedures in other testing areas and assisting as needed

Completing other duties and special projects as assigned

Required

High school diploma or equivalent experience as determined by department management

Minimum of three years of relevant experience

Specialized knowledge of metallurgical principles, standards, methods, and practices

Proficiency in operating advanced metallurgical and laboratory equipment

Fully proficient in applying technical skills across a range of activities; serves as a resource to others

Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and make sound decisions

Capable of handling broader, more complex assignments

Comfortable working in a production-oriented environment with minimal supervision

Strong problem-solving skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills
