Voices of Revolution: Education Program Development for School Groups
The State of North Carolina's Department of Administration is seeking an intern for the Youth Advocacy and Involvement Office. The role focuses on developing educational materials and programs for school groups visiting Tryon Palace, emphasizing the themes of the American Revolution and North Carolina's historical significance.

Responsibilities
Develop North Carolina Essential Standard Course of Study curriculum-aligned materials and presentations for school groups visiting Tryon Palace
Research non-traditional library services and programs available in libraries across North Carolina
Interview libraries and community members about non-traditional library programs and services
Script writing, interview process creation, photography, photo editing, digital/video production and online layout and publishing
Write posts about the non-traditional programs and services and the impact on communities serviced
Collaborate with the research historian to ensure historical accuracy and alignment with state curriculum standards
Pilot test materials with visiting school groups and gather feedback for refinement
Assist with the delivery of educational programs and interpretation during field trips and public events
Create a reusable program package that can be offered to future school groups as an optional enhancement
Qualification
Required
An applicant must be a permanent North Carolina resident attending a college, university, law school, community college or technical institute in North Carolina or a North Carolina resident attending an equivalent institution out of state
Applicants must carry a 2.5 or greater overall grade point average on a 4.0 scale
Applicant must be a high school graduate and at least 18 years old by January 1, 2026
Applicants must be continuing their education in the fall following their participation in the program
To qualify for a law internship, applicants must have completed at least one year of law school before the beginning of the internship, unless other majors are listed
Students having previously held paid internships with this program are not eligible to apply
Applicants must be willing and able to work full-time for the entire 10-week internship
Applicants must be able to provide legal proof of identity and work authorization within three working days of employment
