Bilingual Billing Associate/Front Desk
Texas Hearing Institute is a pediatric non-profit organization seeking a front desk billing associate to join their professional team. The role involves providing a welcoming first impression, managing insurance claims, and offering administrative support. Responsibilities include greeting visitors, answering inquiries, verifying patient insurance, and ensuring a clean reception area.

Responsibilities
Answer telephone and screen voice mails and direct calls
Take and relay messages
Provide information to callers
Greet people entering the organization
Direct persons to the correct destination
Answer queries from the public and clients
Ensure knowledge of staff movements in and out of organization
Monitor visitor access and maintain security awareness
Monitor reception area for cleanliness tidy area at front desk
Provide general administrative and clerical support
Receive and distribute deliveries
Verify patient insurance
Check in clients
Check out clients and take payment on occasion
Monitor and maintain office equipment
Control inventory relevant to reception area
Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Maximizing revenue and reducing contractual allowances/ discounts/ MWS and other (grants) write offs at all times
File all THI appeals, and corrected claims as needed
Reducing patient balances, collecting outstanding balances with invoicing, or at check in
Assist with Entering and posting all service related (program) payments into IMS software
Regularly reviews all clients accounts and keep them clean, including notifying clients of balances due or making necessary adjusting entries. THIS STEP INCLUDES “COMPLETING” CLAIMS IN IMS ADJUDICATION SO THAT THE CLAIMS ARE PROPERLY & TIMELY CLOSED
Qualification
Required
Bilingual (required) - Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish
Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures
Excellent customer service/patient service skills and great phone etiquette
Professional personal presentation
Team player
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities
Must be organized and manage time
“Can-do” attitude and willingness to learn new skills and technologies
Internet usage for insurance verifications
IMS – onsite training
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook
Use of office equipment, i.e., computers, keyboard, iPad, scanner, fax machine, copy machine and postage meter
Internet- using the internet for filing claims, gathering information, and communicating
Spreadsheets- knowledge and ability to create, modify and electronically transmit
High School diploma or equivalent
Must have one -plus years of claims (insurance billing experience)
