Responsibilities

Identify, research, and document potential unclaimed property in accordance with jurisdictional requirements
Standardize client source data using technology-driven solutions to ensure accuracy and consistency
Conduct data analytics and system reviews to organize, validate, and integrate unclaimed property records
Generate and distribute due diligence letters in compliance with statutory requirements
Manage, track, and organize owner responses, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution
Process reissuance of payments to verified property owners
Conduct basic unclaimed property research under supervision, supporting more complex analyses
Prepare and remit unclaimed property reports and funding requests in alignment with state-specific deadlines and calendars
Communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats with internal teams and external clients
Stay current on unclaimed property regulations and technical developments, and apply this knowledge to client engagements
Assist with various ad-hoc projects as assigned, contributing to team and organizational goals outside of core responsibilities
Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements in existing processes and offer suggestions to enhance workflow and team performance
Step into other roles or responsibilities when needed to ensure team success, such as providing coverage during peak periods or absences
Actively contribute to team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and collaborative efforts to improve team dynamics and achieve collective goals

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field required
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, formulas, data analysis)
Solid understanding of financial statements and general ledger structures
Ability to analyze large datasets and translate complex information into actionable insights
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects with shifting deadlines
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and compliance
Willingness to learn and stay current with evolving unclaimed property laws and reporting requirements
Accountable and adaptable, with special adherence to time management under crucial deadlines
Availability to travel as needed
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future. This position does not qualify for employment-based sponsorship

Preferred

1 -3 years of relevant experience in unclaimed property compliance, consulting, accounting, audit, tax, or financial operations preferred
Experience with data tools like Alteryx, Power BI, or SQL a plus
Client-facing experience is a bonus
CPA, CFE, or other relevant certification a plus but not required
