RENTAL FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN

Carter Machinery, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving several states, is hiring a Rental Field Service Technician in Springfield, Virginia. This role involves performing maintenance and repairs on Caterpillar and allied rental equipment, applying advanced mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting techniques both in the shop and at customer job sites.

Responsibilities

Thorough knowledge of engines, transmissions, electrical and other related components to troubleshoot and analyze unique and high level problems/issues quickly, and improvise using logic and critical thinking skills to make needed repairs
Advanced-level mechanical aptitude
Must have the ability to repair Caterpillar and allied components and machines
Works independently and as part of a team
Must be able to interact with customers on a professional level
Must be a strong communicator with excellent verbal and written skills
Must be self-directed ad well organized with the ability to prioritize workload while providing excellent customer service
Demonstrates ability to learn and apply new knowledge
Proficient in use of technical software, databases and manuals
Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
Must be able to work additional hours as needed to meet business and customer demands

Required

Minimum of three years experience performing advanced-level mechanical service and repairs to Caterpillar and related competitive equipment
High school diploma or GED
Thorough knowledge of engines, transmissions, electrical and other related components to troubleshoot and analyze unique and high level problems/issues quickly
Advanced-level mechanical aptitude
Ability to repair Caterpillar and allied components and machines
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to interact with customers on a professional level
Strong communicator with excellent verbal and written skills
Self-directed and well organized with the ability to prioritize workload while providing excellent customer service
Demonstrates ability to learn and apply new knowledge
