Controls Systems Engineer
Noblis is a company focused on supporting critical missions for the Naval Sea Systems Command and Naval Surface Warfare Center. They are seeking a Machinery Controls System Engineer to provide lifecycle support for fielded Machinery Control Systems on the USS ARLEIGH BURKE class of destroyer, including troubleshooting, technical documentation review, and design support.

Responsibilities
Lifecycle support of the supervisory machinery control system which includes, but is not limited to:
Troubleshooting complex problems of all variants of fielded systems (microprocessor based control systems) both at LBES and shipboard
Review of technical documentation related to all variants of fielded systems and future fielded systems
Provide test support for all variants of fielded systems at LBES
Provide shipboard SW & HW installation support of all variants of fielded systems at LBES
Provide technical input to the design of future MCS systems
Develop test procedures to exercise requirements of fielded systems and future fielded systems
Provide design support for integration of equipment in an industrial/shipboard environment
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering preferred, other degrees will be considered based on experience
3+ years of experience in electrical engineering, systems engineer or computer engineering as it pertains to control systems in an industrial environment
Proficiency in reading electrical diagrams or schematics
Proficiency in the use of test tools associated with industrial control systems
US Citizen with a DoD Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain one
Ability to acquire a U.S. Passport or currently have one
Travel up to 20%
Lift and carry (with assistance) up to 50 pounds
Access and maintain equipment located in confined spaces
Ascend/descend ramps/ladders/stairs and work comfortably at varying heights
Reach overhead to handle, install, position and move materials
Perform routine maintenance tasks while crouching, stooping and kneeling
Work in environments with temperature fluctuations, including both hot and cold conditions
Sustain physical activity for extended periods, as well as maintaining balance
See details at close range, at a distance and from side to side
Detect alarms and respond to auditory signals effectively
Preferred
Knowledge of the fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures associated with industrial control systems
Basic knowledge of network troubleshooting tools
