The Electrical Project Designer will be responsible for designing and drafting electrical engineering projects, focusing on EV charging infrastructure, while ensuring compliance with codes and project specifications.

Responsibilities

Develop complete electrical design packages for Level 2 / DCFC EV charging installations, including site layouts, single-line diagrams, conduit and wiring plans, and load calculations

Conduct electrical load analysis and service capacity evaluations to determine utility upgrade requirements

Ensure all designs comply with NEC, local building codes, and utility standards

Prepare permit-ready drawings and documentation for AHJ submissions

Conduct site walks to verify existing electrical infrastructure, panel capacity, grounding conditions, and charger placement feasibility. Field electrical experience preferred

Collect field data, photos, and measurements to support accurate design and layout

Coordinate with construction teams during installation to ensure design intent is followed

Required

3+ years of experience with EVSE (Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment) design and installation

Knowledge of utility service coordination, and utility metering

Proficiency in AutoCAD and Bluebeam for Electrical design and mark ups

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering

Field electrical experience preferred
