FACILITY RELATED CONTROL SYSTEMS ENGINEER - DIRECT HIRE AUTHORITY
USAJOBS is seeking a Facility Related Control Systems Engineer to serve as a professional engineer and technical expert with senior systems engineering responsibility. The role involves performing professional systems engineering work in support of various systems, components, and support equipment, as well as developing system performance requirements and conducting comprehensive analyses.

Responsibilities
Performs professional systems engineering work in support of the acquisition, development, or sustainment of AF CE FRCS systems, components, and/or support equipment
Functions as technical specialist in developing system performance requirements, objectives and integration, and the estimation of time and resources for system design, development, and support
Performs complex and comprehensive analyses and uses systematic, disciplined, and quantifiable approaches to implement, develop, and document projects
Serves as a consultant and technical expert to senior subject matter specialists and/or agency officials responsible for broad program operations

The incumbent must meet all requirements of E-E positions and may be required, as a condition of employment, to take a series of vaccinations and annual boosters to immunize against anthrax and other diseases
During a crisis, the incumbent or designated alternate must continue to perform the E-E duties until relieved by proper authority
This position cannot be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impairing the capability of the organization to function effectively
Employee must file an OGE Form 450, Confidential Disclosure Report upon appointment and annually thereafter
May be required to acquire and maintain certification(s) and/or other specialized training authorized by supervisor
Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise
Required to attend annual ethics and procurement integrity training
Physical required. The work requires the employee to access facilities and infrastructure which may require climbing on, crawling under, or extensive walking at construction sites, hard hat areas, or other base areas
A Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in Engineering. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by ABET; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics
Combination of Education and Experience: College-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying professional engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering
Applicants must have at least 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-02, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-11 or equivalent in other pay systems
Specialized experience includes providing technical leadership in the planning, analyzing, and evaluating efforts used to define civil engineer system/subsystem requirements to ensure assigned project/program success, translate requirements into design criteria, evaluate alternative design approaches, and develop system specifications
