Responsibilities

Manage utilization and operation of the data processing resources

Serve as liaison between contractor personnel, engineering staff, technical personnel

Troubleshoot hardware, software, and communications components

Provide advice, training, and assistance to other technical personnel

Identify cause failure and/or performance degradation for multiple systems within the automation environment

Ensure system performance of virtual servers, virtual desktops, and application virtualization hosts conform to policy required by Information Assurance compliance standards

CompTIA Security+ Certification is required within 6 months of hiring employment date

Employee must obtain appropriate computing environment (CE) certification IAW DoD 8570.01-M within the first six months of employment and obtain recertification as required or be subject to termination

Employee must be able to obtain and maintain certifications IAW DOD Directive 8570.01-M, dated 19 December 2005 (incorporating Change 3, January 24, 2012)

This position may be subject to screening and update of required immunizations unless exempted for medical or administrative reasons in accordance with Army Regulation 40-562, Chapters 3 and 4

Selectees may be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption

This position is designated as Mission Essential. The incumbent will be required to report to work during times of contingency operations, natural disasters, extreme weather or other emergency situations

This position is designated as Inclement Weather Essential. The incumbent must make every attempt to report for work on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions

One year of specialized experience which demonstrates experience in: Developing, coordinating, and managing utilization of data processing resources; Troubleshooting automation systems to include hardware and communication components; and providing training on system applications, functionality, and update requirements

The specialized experience must include, or be supplemented by, information technology related experience which demonstrates each of the four competencies: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, three full years of graduate education from an accredited or pre-accredited institution that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems, or networks
