Cardiac Device Specialist - Bon Secours Cardiology Reynolds

The Cardiac Device Specialist is responsible for the interrogation, testing, interpretation, and programming of cardiac devices, managing patient data, and ensuring optimal patient care through effective communication and follow-up.

Responsibilities
Interrogates devices (pacemakers, AICD automated internal cardioverter defibrillators, etc.) and interprets devices for basic threshold and intracardiac measurements and makes necessary program changes under the direction of the Electrophysiologist
Manages remote device follow up and schedules follow up appointments with patients as appropriate based on the data interpretation
Manages the device database by entering interrogation data. Schedules follow up appointments with patients as appropriate based on the data interpretation
Completes the charge capture process in the electronic medical record for all patients seen in the device clinic and/or captured by remote device follow-ups
Examines wounds post-device implant on initial visit of all post-op patients to ensure the incision is healing appropriately and communicates issues or problems with the Electrophysiologist
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma
1 year of experience in cardiac device management
Basic EKG training
Ability to clearly communicate to other members of the healthcare team
Ability to understand and follow directions of healthcare team
Identification of ECG rhythms and monitor rhythms from multiple vendors
Interrogate pacemakers and defibrillators
Notify physician of critical finding
Knowledge of patient and healthcare safety standards and regulations (i.e. falls, skin breakdown, suicide prevention, environment of care)
Preferred
Associate's degree
Pacemaker, Tachycardia, Bradycardia, and Device Interpretation training
