IT Applications Lead
Peraton is a next-generation national security company that drives missions of consequence. They are seeking an IT Applications Lead to oversee the design, deployment, and management of enterprise applications while ensuring compliance with federal security requirements.

Responsibilities
Lead the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of enterprise applications within the enclave
Ensure applications are aligned with organizational needs and comply with NIST 800-53 control requirements
Oversee application lifecycle management, including upgrades, patches, and decommissioning
Integrate NIST 800-53 security controls into application design and operations
Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure secure configurations, vulnerability management, and continuous monitoring
Support audits, assessments, and accreditation processes (e.g., FISMA, FedRAMP)
Maintain documentation of application security controls, configurations, and dependencies
Conduct risk assessments for new and existing applications, ensuring mitigation strategies are implemented
Partner with compliance officers to ensure adherence to federal and organizational policies
Lead a team of application administrators and analysts, providing technical guidance and mentorship
Work closely with infrastructure, security, and business stakeholders to align application services with mission objectives
Act as the primary point of contact for application-related escalations within the enclave
Stay current with emerging technologies, federal security standards, and best practices
Recommend enhancements to improve application performance, security, and compliance posture
Drive automation and modernization initiatives to streamline application management
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (Master's preferred)
6+ years of experience in IT application management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
Strong knowledge of NIST 800-53 security controls and compliance frameworks (FISMA, FedRAMP)
Experience with enterprise applications (ERP, CRM, collaboration platforms) in secure environments
Familiarity with cloud-based applications and hybrid architectures
Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (PowerShell, Python, Ansible)
Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or Microsoft/AWS/Azure certifications are highly desirable
US Citizenship
Must have the ability to obtain / maintain a Public Trust clearance

Ability to translate regulatory requirements into technical solutions
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and documentation abilities
