Seasonal Utility Systems Repairer Operator Helper
Rocky Mountain National Park is seeking Seasonal Utility Systems Repairer Operator Helpers for a six-month seasonal period. The primary purpose of this position is to assist journey level utility systems repairer-operators by performing simpler and routine duties related to the repair and operation of utility systems for Federal facilities.

Responsibilities
Assist journey level utility systems repairer-operators by performing the simpler and more routine duties of repairing and operating utility systems for Federal buildings and Facilities
Perform assistance work incidental and/or preparatory to that of higher graded repairer-operator of utility systems such as air conditioning, heating, wastewater treatment and water treatment
Be prepared for considerable walking, standing on concrete floors, or climbing stairways, ladders and platforms to reach where equipment is located, often in cramped spaces that require stooping, bending, kneeling or otherwise working in awkward positions
Perform work on large industrial/utility related equipment and where there is frequent lifting and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally 80-100 pounds with assistance
Work outside in all types of weather with temperatures varying significantly
Follow prescribed safety practices and use safety equipment
Qualification
Required
U.S. Citizenship required
Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication
Meet Selective Service Registration Act requirement for males
Selectee will be required to participate in the Direct Deposit Electronics Funds Transfer Program
Government housing may be available
You will be required to wear a uniform and comply with the National Park Service uniform standards. A uniform allowance will be provided
You may be required to work on-call, evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime and/or shift work
You may be required to travel overnight away from home occasionally
You will be required to operate a government (or private) motor vehicle as part of your official duties; a valid driver's license is required
You will be required to submit a Motor Vehicle Operator's License and Driving Record
Applicants must be at least (1) 18 years old or (2) at least 16 years old and: (a) Have graduated from high school or been awarded a certificate equivalent to graduating from high school; or (b) Have completed a formal vocational training program; or (c) Have received a statement from school authorities agreeing with their preference for employment rather than continuing their education; or (d) Be currently enrolled in a secondary school and either work only during school vacation periods or work part-time during the school year under a formal student employment program
Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision (SCREEN OUT)
Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc
Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic)
Use of Measuring Instruments
Ability To Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprinting reading)
Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment
