Responsibilities

Coordinates and integrates the Combatant Command Joint Training Plan which includes J7 activities within the 0-3 year planning horizon. Incumbent synchronizes the planning and execution of training, exercises, and wargames, with the NORAD and USNORTHCOM Directorates and subordinates HQs, the Joint Staff and other CCMDs
The incumbent develops, coordinates and executes key synchronization events and processes to inform current and future planning and create a common understanding of NORAD and USNORTHCOM Joint Training Program
The incumbent is responsible for the development of CCMD-level policy regarding J7 activities, roles and responsibilities. The employee contributes to the development of Combatant Command and DoD policy by reviewing, coordinating, and updating policy, instructions, and guidance for NORAD and USNORTHCOM, and the J7 Directorate

Males must be registered for Selective Service
Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET (TS/SCI) clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI)
Work requires a substantial amount of travel away from the normal duty station, including transportation by military and or commercial aircraft
Will be occasionally required to work holidays, weekends, and non-standard hours to support military operations
Required to be on phone recall and 2 hour standby
This position is designated by the Air force as a Test Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Testing Program
As a mandatory requirement for employment in this TDP, the incumbent is (A) to refrain from use of illegal drugs and (B) if required, to submit to urinalysis testing
The selectee must sign a statement acknowledging the position occupied is identified as a TDP
The employee may be recalled to duty, may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evening, weekends, and or holidays, and may be required to work overtime
In the performance of assigned duties, employee uses tact, diplomacy, and professionalism to promote effective working relationships with a variety of offices and agencies
May be required to perform Battle Roster functions during Exercise and Real World events
Position is eligible for Situational telework
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-12, or equivalent in other pay systems
Skill in the management and synchronization of multiple planning efforts across the HQs staff, and the execution of multiple training events, exercises, and wargames to achieve desired effects
Knowledge of the functions, goals, objectives, and work processes pertinent to aligning the effects of training, exercises, and wargames to Campaign and Strategy objectives across the Combatant Command
Knowledge of National Defense Strategy, National Military Strategy, Unified Command Plan, Global Force Management processes, current military law, National Response Framework, joint plans, policies, and guidance
Skill in applying Combatant Command coordination and planning systems, operational concepts, decision frameworks and routine coordination systems to effect Combatant Command Joint Training Plan
Knowledge of crisis response processes, and the Combatant Command and controls systems
Skill in written and oral communication and production of 4 Star level products
Knowledge of foreign disclosure, security policies and procedures
Skill in leading and participating in Joint and Operational Planning Teams, Cross Functional Teams, and Combatant Command Battle Rhythm events to further equities and to negotiate and defend ideas supporting training and education concepts
Skill in managing multiple projects simultaneously
Skills in the preparation of broad and difficult comprehensive management studies to propose solutions to challenging management problems
Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work
You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week
