Field Operations Engineer

The Field Operations Engineer will support the installation, maintenance, and repair of Automated License Plate Recognition (ALPR) camera systems, ensuring optimal operation and performance standards are met.

Responsibilities
Perform installation, configuration, and calibration of ALPR cameras and associated equipment (network switches, modems, enclosures, power systems)
Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure cameras, AI system, and network components operate optimally
Diagnose and repair hardware issues, including camera lens alignment, power delivery, and connectivity problems
Coordinate with remote support and engineering teams to perform firmware updates, software reloads, and system testing
Document all service activities, maintenance logs, and issue resolutions using ticketing or service management tools
Ensure all work adheres to safety and compliance standards
Support site surveys and equipment assessments for new deployments or relocations
Provide training or guidance to local teams or end users on equipment handling and system functionality
Maintain proper inventory of spare parts, tools, and field equipment
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent (technical certification preferred)
2+ years of field service experience in electronics, networking, or surveillance systems
Strong understanding of IP networking, PoE, and camera system integration
Proficiency with diagnostic tools (multimeter, laptop, network tester)
Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and installation drawings
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to customer sites
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Preferred
Experience with ALPR or traffic enforcement camera systems
Familiarity with Linux or Windows-based troubleshooting
Basic understanding of NVR, VMS, or cloud-based management platforms
Knowledge of low-voltage electrical systems and field wiring standards
