The Vehicle Test Automation Technician will be responsible for supporting daily test operations, maintaining test equipment, and collaborating with internal teams to improve testing capabilities.

Responsibilities
Supervise the operation of automated vehicle testing on chassis dynamometers
Conduct routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs of test equipment and test vehicles
Perform testing in accordance to test schedule and outlined processes
Identify process improvements for increased operational efficiency
Work alongside engineers to support the implementation of new testing capabilities
Assist engineering teams with hands-on troubleshooting of mechanical/electrical issues with test equipment and test vehicles
Plan and prepare for new vehicle programs and test equipment to be integrated into our lab
Maintain an organized lab space (5S methodology)
Qualification
Required
5+ years of experience working as an automotive technician, preferably with EV experience
Knowledge of chassis or engine dynamometers systems. Previous experience operating this equipment is a plus
Basic understanding of vehicle software and underlying electrical architecture
CAN/LIN network understanding
Strong understanding of both electrical and mechanical components in an automotive context
Ability to apply creative and critical thinking to solve problems and deliver exceptional results with minimal oversight
High computer proficiency and open mind to learning new software tools
Good team player with excellent communication skills
Flexibility to commute to other nearby Rivian facilities in the SoCal area on occasion (5 - 10% of the time)
