Responsibilities

Establish design criteria, prepare engineering specifications, design calculations, material take offs (MTO) in accordance with project requirements

Assist in resolving complex problems requiring a comprehensive and detailed analysis and multi-disciplinary understanding

Should understand Geotech reports, and design foundation based on Geotech reports recommendations

Provide mentoring and peer review to the junior members of the team

Conduct on-site inspections as required

Prepare detailed civil and structural designs, which include concrete foundations, piling, steel structures etc

Prepare documentation for engineering hours budgets, schedules, work plans, tender documents, technical reports, project calculations etc

You’ll assign, give instructions and provide directions to technical support staff

You’ll establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers and team members

You’ll ensure the Quality Assurance, consistency, and integrity of the electronic handover of deliverables

You’ll be responsible for reviewing and stamping drawings (as required); using experience in interpreting design codes and regulatory requirements

You’ll communicate with internal peers and project team and may be required to answer questions regarding deliverables

Required

A university degree in Structural Engineering

Professional Engineer license (P.E.) required

10+ years and over experience in the engineering of civil structural designs in energy industry

Experience with facility design, dynamic foundations, substation, switchyard and transmission line foundation design and structure engineering

Working knowledge of software's like SAP2000, RISA3D, All Pile, LPile and MFAD, Bluebeam Revu, MS office, Navis Works

Good report writing skills

Familiarity with relevant design codes for Concrete and Steel Structures, and current Industrial standards

A team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills

Solid organization and time management skills
