They are seeking an Executive Director for the Healthcare Preparedness Program to manage programmatic aspects, oversee staff, and lead initiatives to enhance healthcare facility resilience and preparedness.

Responsibilities

Manage all programmatic aspects of the ASPR HPP grant which includes ensuring DOHMH meets all grant requirements, development and implementation of strategies to enhance and improve healthcare facility resilience and preparedness including hospitals, nursing homes, adult care facilities, pediatrics, dialysis, primary care, urgent care and pharmacies
Provide day-to-day management for a program of ~10 staff, as well as interns and fellows with responsibility for overseeing work plans, managing performance, regularly communicating program priorities to staff and ensuring ongoing professional development
Lead the NYC HCC and oversee the implementation of a 5-year NYC Health Care Coalition strategic plan
Ensure that healthcare preparedness initiatives are appropriately evaluated, and findings inform future investments and resource allocation
Lead efforts to understand and engage community partners and other healthcare sectors in emergency preparedness and response
In collaboration with planning partners, work to strengthen the planning and response capabilities of Emergency Support Function 8: Health and Medical to ensure a coordinated federal/state/local response to an emergency
Lead the continued development of the Healthcare Systems Support Branch (HSSB) of the DOHMH Incident Command System (ICS) and serve as a member of its leadership. In this role, HSSB supports healthcare delivery system partners during an emergency
Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the community and healthcare partners
Represent DOHMH on a variety of city, state and national workgroups
Serve a leadership role for DOHMH Incident Command System (ICS) activations, work non-business hours during emergencies and on-call duty during non-emergency periods
Other duties or tasks may be assigned on an as-needed basis

Required

A master's degree from an accredited college in emergency management, public health, disaster management, emergency preparedness/administration, public administration, or a related field and three (3) years of satisfactory full-time professional experience in one or a combination of the following area(s): emergency preparedness planning / management, emergency medical services, fire safety, law enforcement, homeland security, public health, environmental / occupational health and safety or a related specialized area; including eighteen (18) months of experience in a managerial, consultative, administrative or supervisory capacity. Supervision must include supervising professional staff in one of the areas described above
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and four (4) years of satisfactory full-time professional experience in one of the areas described in '1' above, including eighteen (18) months of experience in a managerial, consultative, administrative or supervisory capacity. Supervision must include supervising professional staff in one of the areas described in '1' above
A satisfactory equivalent combination of education and experience as described in '1' or '2' above. However, all candidates must have a baccalaureate degree and eighteen (18) months of experience in a managerial, consultative, administrative or supervisory capacity. Supervision must include supervising professional staff in one of the areas described in '1' above

Preferred

Experience in healthcare settings and experience in emergency preparedness planning and response desired
Should have a minimum of five years of supervisory experience with proven leadership skills overseeing a complex and external facing project portfolio
Should have the ability to multitask and analyze, evaluate, and manage program operations in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and collaborative leadership skills required
