Responsibilities
Design, build, and scale backend services and APIs (GraphQL and REST) that power Boulevard’s e-commerce platform
Modernize legacy monolithic applications using modern architectures such as domain-driven design, event-driven design, clean architecture, and CQRS
Design and build modern, scalable, service-oriented, event-driven applications that will be the foundation of Boulevards Consumer Marketplace
Lead projects end-to-end — from ideation to deployment — ensuring technical quality, scalability, and timely delivery
Proactively identify issues, propose solutions, and drive continuous improvement across the platform
Mentor and support other engineers, fostering technical growth and a culture of learning
Demonstrate senior-level ownership in code quality, collaboration, and execution; influence through expertise and impact
Qualification
Required
6+ years building and scaling distributed backend systems in production environments
Strong background in designing and implementing GraphQL and REST APIs, with fundamentals in system design, data modeling, and performance optimization
Deep understanding of caching, queuing (Kafka, Redis MQ, or similar), and asynchronous architectures (Event Driven Design, Clean Architecture)
Hands-on experience architecting and operating large-scale services on AWS (or similar)
Proficiency in at least one backend language (e.g., Go, Python, Node.js, or similar) and openness to learning Elixir
Proven ability to lead projects from concept to delivery, set technical direction, and resolve challenges proactively
Strong communicator who thrives in cross-functional environments and drives outcomes through influence and partnership
Commitment to mentoring and elevating others through thoughtful feedback, knowledge sharing, and high engineering standards
