Responsibilities
Follow standard procedures regarding sample preparation prior to instrumental analysis; this entails using rolling and cutting equipment, very accurate weighing of samples, hot plate acid digestion of samples, and accurate dilutions among other common laboratory procedures; attention to detail is a key requirement
Perform tests and data recording for provided samples using the following techniques (not necessarily a complete listing): ICP-OES, Metallography, GDMS, Tensile Testing, IGA (LECO), Tap Density. Hardness Testing, SEM/EDX (and Image Analysis)
Handle and move bulk acids
Proficient in the use of advanced Excel functions, LIMS (including maintenance of functions related to daily operations), SAP and other standard office software
Qualification
Required
High school diploma, technical school, or GED required
Minimum 2 years of relevant analytical experience required
Preferred
Preference will be given to candidates with a two- or four-year degree (preferably in a STEM field)
Experience with Metallography, tensile testing and hardness testing preferred
