Start in 2026 SummerUnited Educators (UE) is a member-owned liability insurer focused on serving K-12 schools, colleges, and universities. They are seeking an Underwriting Intern who will have the opportunity to learn about the insurance industry and the organization's operations while working with various departments during the summer of 2026.

Responsibilities
Work with individuals in the Underwriting department to learn about the products offered by the organization
Review submissions for accuracy and completion and work with brokers to follow up for any missing information
Shadow an underwriter and assist with the renewal of an account
Meet with individuals in other departments to learn about all aspects of the organization, particularly individuals in Resolutions (claims) and Risk Management
Respond to both internal and external inquiries on an as needed basis
Qualification
Required
Working towards an associate or bachelor's degree, preferably in a business or risk management program
Excellent interpersonal, analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
Demonstrates the ability to overcome objections and create win/win situations with internal and external constituents
