Mid LevelTexas State University is seeking applicants for a Systems Administrator II position in the Department of Information Systems and Analytics. The selected applicant will manage the department’s physical and virtual servers, support academic programs, administer computer labs, and provide technical support to faculty while ensuring data security and integrity.

Responsibilities
Administer and manage department’s physical servers and virtual servers hosted in the University’s server farm
Configuration of servers to host databases, data warehouses, and web services to support courses in data analytics and information processing
Administer and manage the department’s computer labs
Configuration of cloud resources and services
Provide technical support to faculty in the use of these resources
Set up and ensure controlled user access and data security to these resources in accordance with University standards
Liaise with the University IT and IT Security to ensure data integrity and security
Provide technical support for faculty research on the University’s High Performance Computing Cluster
Qualification
Required
Experience in administering and managing physical servers and virtual servers
Knowledge of configuring servers to host databases, data warehouses, and web services
Experience in administering and managing computer labs
Ability to configure cloud resources and services
Technical support experience for faculty in the use of resources
Knowledge of controlled user access and data security in accordance with University standards
Ability to liaise with University IT and IT Security to ensure data integrity and security
Technical support experience for faculty research on High Performance Computing Clusters
