Responsibilities

Daily inspection of large water resource (reservoirs and/or canal and embankment stabilization) projects
Act on behalf of the Owner to inspect the work of the contractors completing the construction of the facility and/or project
Planning work for testing, inspecting, monitoring and reporting contractors’ work full-time on site
Maintain complete and accurate records of all activities and events related to the Project
Document damage to property or personal injury accidents on site

Required

Associate's Degree in a technical discipline or construction-related field, or a high school diploma and equivalent work experience, is required
Typically 5+ years of related experience on field projects
Knowledge of reservoir systems, hydrology, and structural components
Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations related to water storage and management
Strong observational and analytical skills, with attention to detail
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, maps, and technical documents
Proficiency in using inspection tools and equipment, including GPS devices, cameras, and measuring instruments
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports and collaborating with teams
Physical ability to perform fieldwork, including walking, climbing, and working in various weather conditions
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to multiple reservoir sites as needed
May require formal certification from an independent organization, depending on type of inspection assignment
Needs to have a valid driver's license and have transportation available for work

Preferred

Certification in dam safety inspection or water management (e.g., ASDSO certification) is a plus
Experience with GIS software or other mapping tools
Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Proficient with MS Office Suite, E-Builder and Proliance
Good verbal, written and interpersonal skills
Foreign language skills (Spanish) a plus
