Responsibilities

Join our Tax-Exempt Organizations team in the Washington, DC office
Have an interest or experience with a wide variety of tax-exempt organization issues, including qualifying for and maintaining tax-exemption, restrictions on lobbying and political activity, the unrelated business income tax, Section 4958 intermediate sanctions, impact investing, the Chapter 42 excise tax rules applicable to private foundations and charitable contribution deduction rules
Possess excellent academic credentials and strong research, writing, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Be a team player who is willing to pitch in on a wide range of tasks and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic setting

Required

Law firm experience
Excellent academic credentials
Interest or experience with a wide variety of tax-exempt organization issues, including qualifying for and maintaining tax-exemption, restrictions on lobbying and political activity, the unrelated business income tax, Section 4958 intermediate sanctions, impact investing, the Chapter 42 excise tax rules applicable to private foundations and charitable contribution deduction rules
Interest or relevant knowledge of state nonprofit corporation laws
Knowledge of best practices in nonprofit governance
Excellent research skills
Excellent writing skills
Excellent communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent organizational skills
Team player who is willing to pitch in on a wide range of tasks
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic setting
Member of the District of Columbia Bar or eligible for admission on motion
