Control Room Operator (2nd Class Engineer)
MIT Office of Resource Development is seeking a Control Room Operator (2nd Class Engineer) for their Central Utilities Plant. The role involves monitoring and operating CUP facilities, ensuring compliance with regulations, conducting plant startups and shutdowns, and troubleshooting equipment failures.

Responsibilities
Monitoring, operating and control of the CUP facilities from the distributed control system (DCS)
Ensures all CUP equipment is operated within design parameters and in full compliance with laws, regulations, policies, and procedures
Conducts plant startups and shutdowns and participates in the review of problems, incidents, and unusual events
Performs routine operational tests and adjustments
Maintains accurate records and logs
Conducts equipment switching and lockout/tagout procedures and operating plant systems to meet specified and IceTec parameters
Monitors operations, optimizes performance, ensures emissions control compliance and keeps facilities clean and safe
Troubleshoots equipment failures
Operates chillers, boilers, and other CUP equipment
Trains Plant Operators in DCS operations
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or equivalent
a minimum MA 2nd Class Stationary Engineer License and Driver's License
a minimum of three years of operating experience in power generation or central utility plant
ability to move 50 pounds
move about the jobsite and machinery to access equipment and/or remain stationary for extended periods of time
perform work on ladders, scaffolds and other above ground locations
Preferred
Hoisting License 1C
Industrial Waste Treatment Grade 2 License
