The Early Childhood Education and Education Faculty position involves teaching, curriculum development, and program coordination, with responsibilities extending to departmental leadership as a chair. Responsibilities

Teaching 15 credit hours each fall and spring semester
Opportunities to teach during the summer semester may be available for additional compensation
Support both Early Childhood Education (ECE) and Education (EDU) programs
Collaboration with ACC’s campus-based Child Development Center to ensure curricular and instructional alignment
Contributing to the implementation of grants that support both ECE and EDU program development and sustainability
Developing and evaluating curriculum
Advising students
Assessing student and program objectives
Student learning assessment duties
Supervision of full-time faculty and part-time instructors
Serving on institution-wide committees and statewide task forces
Student recruitment
Sponsorship of student activities
Job placement and community outreach services
Selecting textbooks
Attending departmental, school, and College meetings and functions
Participating in professional organizations which enhance the educational mission of the college
Developing innovative approaches to learning

Qualification

Required

Master's degree in Early Childhood Education or related subfield or Master's degree plus 18 graduate credit hours in Early Childhood Education or related subfield
Has, or qualifies for, postsecondary CTE credential including 2000 non-teaching occupational hours within the last 7 years
Experience teaching and/or training various subjects within the discipline
Demonstrated commitment to supporting and empowering students from historically underrepresented communities, including but not limited to students of color, LGBTQIA+ individuals, military veterans, first-generation college students, and people with disabilities
Demonstrate a growth mindset regarding professional development
Ability to communicate effectively in a form that is appropriate for the needs of the audience
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
