Responsibilities

Executing audits in accordance with accepted audit standards
Supporting the execution of risk-based internal audits consistent with the annual audit plan
Assisting with other audit related projects
Analyzing and evaluating the organization's financial, IT, and operational processes to identify risks and ensure adherence to relevant regulations and standards
Collecting and verifying information, documenting compliance issues, and developing recommendations for process improvements
Preparing audit work papers and developing audit reports that document findings and management action plans
Communicating audit findings to relevant departments and personnel to ensure a clear understanding of identified issues
Aiding in developing management action plans and following up to verify their implementation
Staying current with state and federal statutes, regulations, and ongoing regulatory matters
Researching relevant laws to respond to inquiries from physicians, colleagues, and management
Participating in department quality assurance efforts through information sharing, training, planning activities, reporting work in progress, and self-reviewing audit work papers
Providing training and education, as needed, and staying informed of best compliance practices and trends

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration/Management, Information Systems, or related field, or relevant experience required
1 year of experience in a professional work environment required

Preferred

Certificated Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) preferred
Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) preferred
2 years of experience in Public Accounting, Internal Auditing, Internal Control Design/Documentation, or a comparable position preferred
