Lead Engineer – Engine Mounts

Responsibilities

Lead projects and initiatives of moderate scope, complexity, and impact
Execute, with limited guidance, the analysis/evaluation of assigned projects that meet business standards, practices and procedures, and the product/program requirements
Evaluate loads from both the engine and the airframer
Apply loads to size hardware based on strength, LCF, damage tolerance/fatigue, fire and other design requirements
Write Certification reports for both FAR33 and FAR25
Provide sustaining support for fielded hardware; MRB, DR, VSE, etc
Interface with adjacent hardware owners and airframers
Perform structural analysis using finite element analysis (FEA) in support of new engine designs and fielded products
Prepare and present technical information to internal and external customers
Document and communicate Engine Mounts design, analysis, and test data
Share engineering information, lessons learned, and promote open dialogue
Prepare invention disclosures for technology that provides a competitive advantage
Assure proper documentation of technical data for assigned projects

Required

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/university in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline with an emphasis in structural design and design optimization
Minimum of 3 years of experience in an engineering capacity

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Therefore, employment will be contingent upon the ability to prove that you meet the status of a U.S. Person as one of the following: U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, have been granted asylee or refugee status (i.e., a protected individual under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3))

Preferred

Advanced Engineering degree from an accredited college or university
Engine Mounts and/or structures design and certification experience
Experience with NPI and Production processes for structures
Experience with ANSYS or other finite element computer codes (modeling and stress analysis)
Programing skills such as Fortran, Matlab, or Python
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Proven analytical and organizational ability
Ability to collaborate and work effectively with internal and external teams and customers
