Responsibilities

Provides day-to-day support to attorneys and legal support staff; primary duties include supporting the assigned products liability team and coordinating national discovery management
Assists with new business intake processes, saves client/attorney incoming emails and court notifications in NetDocs or similar document management systems; performs electronic filing, following court e-filing procedures and utilizing court web portals
Creates, types, modifies and saves correspondence, memoranda, notes, legal documents, etc., whether from drafts, originals or dictation
Copies and scans documents; and creates/updates binders
May assist with attorney time entry, travel and scheduling. Maintains list of all current billing numbers
As requested, may provide support for reception, the conference center and/or copy center, as duties/office needs can vary widely from day to day
Performs other administrative duties as assigned by firm management

Required

Two years of post-high school education and related work experience required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including data entry, proofreading, spelling, grammar and punctuation
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Possesses a high level of organizational and project management skills
Self-motivated with ability to multi-task and work with minimal supervision
Exercises independent judgment in determining priority levels of all work assigned and assures assignments are completed in a timely manner
Demonstrates a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality regarding firm and client matters and protects sensitive information
Experience operating administrative office equipment (e.g., high-speed copier, scanner, fax machine)
Ability to execute tasks in a client-centric manner and to work effectively and efficiently in a team setting and with a diverse group of people at all levels of the organization
Ability to take direction, receive and apply feedback, and communicate support needs
Ability to effectively follow procedures and manage competing priorities; demonstrate attention to detail, accuracy and excellent organizational skills
Ability to work independently with some level of autonomy, taking initiative to ensure performance aligns with the successful operations of the office
Ability to be flexible, work flexible hours when required, and respond quickly and calmly to urgent situations; occasionally working overtime, evening or weekend hours may be required

Preferred

Associate's Degree preferred
Typing proficiency with +55 wpm preferred
