As a Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) Architect, you will play a foundational role in redefining TI’s global factory network by integrating MES with real-time data pipelines and AI-driven decision support.
ComputerDSPSemiconductor
Responsibilities
Define the end-to-end MES system architecture across wafer fabs, assembly/test, and ancillary operations
Develop the strategic roadmap for modernizing TI’s MES stack, including integration with AMAT MES 300, Siemens OpsCenter MES/MOM, or equivalent systems
Establish architectural principles that support autonomy, modularity, high availability, and global scalability
Architect a unified API and service layer for seamless integration between MES, E3/APC gateways, AMHS/OHT, equipment automation, facility systems, scheduling/dispatching engines, quality/test systems, and business systems (ERP, PLM)
Design patterns for horizontal and vertical integration—from shop-floor equipment to enterprise applications
Define how MES interacts with TI’s common data foundation (unified data warehouse, data lake, streaming architectures)
Partner with data engineering teams to ensure MES data is accessible, semantically consistent, and optimized for analytics, digital twins, and AI/ML
Enable 'Factory That Thinks' capabilities by integrating MES with digital twins, predictive scheduling, and agentic workflows
Co-design Run-to-Run (R2R), Virtual Metrology, and FDC/APC data flows to support higher automation maturity
Support E3 model coverage expansion and standardization across tools
Define and enforce MES architectural standards, naming conventions, ontologies, and metadata schemas
Drive cybersecurity, access control, selective disclosure, and audit/compliance requirements within MES workflows
Establish guidelines for deployment, versioning, disaster recovery, and business continuity
Work closely with domain leaders across Smart Manufacturing (Scheduling & Simulation, Equipment Automation, Process Control, Data & AI, Decision Support & Agentic Automation)
Partner with manufacturing operations, engineering, IT, cybersecurity, quality, and product teams to ensure seamless end-to-end workflows
Mentor cross-functional teams and guide vendors/partners in architecting scalable solutions
Qualification
Required
10+ years of experience in manufacturing systems architecture, with deep exposure to semiconductor MES (AMAT MES 300, Siemens/Mentor OpsCenter, Camstar, R2G, or similar)
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related degree program
Proven track record architecting large-scale MES integrations across equipment, AMHS, APC/FDC, scheduling/dispatch, ERP/PLM, and data systems
Strong knowledge of fab/AT workflows: WIP management, lot/recipe management, routing, tool state models, dispatching, traceability, quality/test operations, SPC/SPC-ready data flows, and engineering workflows
Expertise in equipment interface standards (SECS/GEM, EDA/E120/E125, E164, E171)
Preferred
Strong understanding of data architectures—streaming, time-series, semantic models, ontologies, metadata management
Experience with modern cloud and microservices architectures (K8s, event streaming, REST/gRPC APIs, service mesh, etc.)
Experience integrating MES with APC frameworks (e.g., R2R controllers, VM models, FDC engines)
Familiarity with scheduling engines (RTD, SMART, or custom solvers), digital twins (PlantSim, AnyLogic, Omniverse), and agent-based automation
Experience architecting systems for multi-factory, global deployments
Strong understanding of cybersecurity requirements for manufacturing systems (NIST, ISA/IEC 62443, TI security classifications)
Ability to influence at multiple levels, from senior executives to domain engineers
Benefits
Competitive pay and benefits designed to help you and your family live your best life
