Principal Software Engineering Manager

Responsibilities
Lead and scale a team of 8–10 high-performing software engineers
Hire, mentor, coach, and retain top technical talent
Provide hands-on technical leadership in architecture, design, development, code reviews, and quality assurance
Ensure operational excellence and live-site reliability
Own and evolve large-scale authorization systems with a focus on security and resiliency
Partner with Product Management to deliver short-term goals and long-term business objectives
Drive cross-team collaboration across Microsoft partner groups
Foster an inclusive, healthy, and high-trust team culture
Champion Microsoft values and engineering best practices
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter
Preferred
Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 12+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience
4+ years of experience designing, building, and operating scalable, highly available cloud services or distributed systems on platforms such as Azure, AWS, GCP, or comparable cloud environments, with production ownership and CI/CD pipeline integration
2+ years of experience managing software engineering teams, including responsibility for hiring, performance management, and career development
