The role involves contributing to the design, buildout, and expansion of enterprise data center environments, while providing technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.

Responsibilities
With heavy touch and active in the environment
Contribute to the design, buildout, and expansion of enterprise data center environments, including power, cooling, networking, storage, and compute infrastructure
Understanding of rack PDU's, new installations, upgrades, firmware upgrades, IP'ing
Working knowledge of Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) software. Asset management, power management
Contribute to the deployment, installation, and configuration of servers, storage arrays, network hardware, and supporting infrastructure
Working knowledge of data center capacity planning across power, space, and cooling to ensure long-term scalability and reliability
Awareness of hardware lifecycle management, including procurement, vendor coordination, RMA processing, and end-of-life transitions
Participate in troubleshooting and root-cause analysis efforts for complex infrastructure or hardware failures
Understanding of data center standards, operational procedures, and documentation
Working knowledge of power distribution, HVAC, fire suppression, and physical security systems
Contribute to structured cabling design, installation, labeling, and documentation for copper, fiber, and MTP / MPO systems
Collaborate with cross-functional teams - network, cloud, security, operations—to support hybrid and multi-site architectures
Working knowledge of vendor relationships, service contracts, and on-site support activities
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior and mid-level data center engineers and technicians
Ensure compliance with industry standards, environmental regulations, and internal security policies
Qualification
