Staff Psychologist - Neuropsychologist
The Chillicothe VA Medical Center is seeking a Staff Psychologist specializing in Neuropsychology. This role involves providing psychological and neuropsychological assessment, evaluation, and treatment of patients with cognitive deficits, emotional adjustment, and mental illness, as well as conducting psychotherapy and administering psychological tests.

Responsibilities
Performs psychological and neuropsychological assessment, evaluation and treatment of patients with problems of cognitive deficits, personality, emotional adjustment or mental illness
Performs psychotherapy with patients, either through individual sessions or through group therapy sessions. Uses therapeutic techniques
Administers a wide variety of group and individual psychological tests including neuropsychological instruments
Uses a variety of intelligence, neuropsychological, and personality assessment measures
Provides verbal feedback on assessment results, diagnosis and recommendations to the patient and/or their family/caregiver/guardian. Writes clear, concise reports in response to consultation requests
Conducts interviews, uses rating scales, questionnaires or other measurement devices or observes the patient to assess emotional, functional or psychological condition
Plans and conducts group and individual psychotherapy
Oversees other professionals or works as a key team member providing comprehensive psychological and medical care for a group of individuals
Promotes a psychotherapeutic atmosphere among the professional treatment staff
Uses the following clinical modalities as well as other specialized modalities when needed: (1) Eclectic; (2) Supportive; (3) Behavior Modification, i.e., Behavioral Rehearsal, relaxation training, assertiveness training, systematic sensitization, etc.; (4) Cognitive-Behavioral(5) Cognitive; (6) Couples; (7) Family; (8) Evaluation and Disposition

You must provide an official transcript and/or certificate documenting the completion of the re-specialization program
Hold a full, current, and unrestricted license to practice psychology at the doctoral level in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or the District of Columbia
Psychologists must be proficient in spoken and written English in accordance with VA Handbook 5005, Part II, Chapter 3, section A, paragraph 3j
Have a doctoral degree in psychology from a graduate program in psychology accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA), the Psychological Clinical Science Accreditation System (PCSAS), or the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) at the time the program was completed
Have successfully completed a professional psychology internship training program that was accredited by APA or CPA at the time the program was completed and that is consistent with the assignment for which the applicant is to be employed
In addition to meeting the basic requirements, you must have at least two years of experience as a professional psychologist, with at least one year equivalent to the GS-12 grade level
Preferred
Have completed a 2-year post-doctoral fellowship in neuropsychology
