Human Resources Intern
Wakefern Food Corp. is the largest retailer-owned cooperative in the United States, focused on supporting its members' retail operations. The Human Resources Intern will assist in managing the Summer Internship Program and support the HR Business Partner team with various projects and tasks.
Responsibilities
Screen resumes and applications for Wakefern’s Summer Internship Program
Organize and plan professional development events for Wakefern interns
Assist with onboarding and orientation
Design and draft newsletter that outlines summer internship program
Provide general support to the Human Resources team
Schedule and confirm interviews with candidates
Post, update and remove job ads from job boards, careers pages and social networks
Assist with HR Metrics and Analytics
Assist HRBP team with projects as needed
Shadow various HR departments including compensation, benefits, retail HR, operations and analytics, etc
Qualification
Required
Interns are required to comply with the 5-day in-person attendance policy for the program
Must be at least 18 years old
Must have completed 24 college credits with a 3.0 cumulative GPA or better
Will be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate school for fall
Successful completion of a substance abuse test and background check is required
Valid driver's license and flexibility with regard to travel required
Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Word and PowerPoint required)
Strong interpersonal, analytical and customer service skills with the ability to multitask and manage time effectively
Excellent communication skills (written, oral and presentation)
Ability to exhibit proper business etiquette when dealing with all levels of the organization
Preferred
Previous work experience in HR is beneficial
