Responsibilities
Serve as a first-line manager of professional engineers within the CFMO Design Section
Manage staffing, scheduling, assigning and reviewing work, conducting service ratings, approving time and leave, training and staff development, and ensuring compliance with EEO and labor relations requirements
Direct and personally perform civil engineering design work, primarily using AutoCAD Civil 3D
Review plans and provide field oversight
Serve as the engineer of record to seal and approve civil engineering documents
Qualification
Required
Possession of a bachelor's degree in engineering
Four years of professional experience equivalent to an Engineer, including two years equivalent to an Engineer P11 or one year equivalent to an Engineer 12, Engineer Manager Licensed 12, or Engineering Licensed Specialist 12
Possession of a registered professional engineering license as required by the State of Michigan
Experience managing professional engineering and/or architectural staff
Experience functioning as a lead on engineering projects
Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
Experience preparing, reviewing, or approving civil engineering portions of construction documents (drawings and specifications/project manuals)
Experience coordinating with external agencies such as DTMB or LARA on construction projects
Possession of a valid driver's license and the ability to travel statewide for site visits
