Senior Principal Program Chief Engineer - Engines & MEMS (ONSITE)

RTX is seeking an experienced and results-driven Program Chief Engineer to join their Engines & MEMS team at the Burnsville, Minnesota site. In this key leadership role, you will be responsible for driving engineering execution of a portfolio of investments spanning across the full product life cycle, from concept and development to manufacturing and sustainment.

Responsibilities

Lead the engineering Integrated Program Team (IPT) through proposal, definition, design, verification, manufacturing, and sustainment phases
Serve as the Engineering representative within the program’s Value Stream, ensuring technical execution meets or exceeds cost, schedule, and performance targets
Own engineering responsibilities for Earned Value Management (EVMS), risk management, change control, and work scope oversight
Develop and manage annual budgets in collaboration with functional and program leadership
Create and maintain detailed schedules and plans that align with program and customer milestones (technical reviews, hardware deliveries, qualification testing, etc.)
Track and analyze key performance metrics, implementing corrective actions to address negative trends
Represent Collins Aerospace in all engineering-related customer interactions, both virtual and in-person, fostering strong relationships and technical alignment
Identify and pursue recurring and non-recurring cost reduction opportunities
Lead resolution efforts for in-service product issues, ensuring thorough root cause investigations and timely corrective actions
Provide regular project updates to internal leadership across multiple levels of the organization
Direct and mentor assigned technical team members, support career development, and ensure proper training and tools are available to meet program goals

Required

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
10+ years of engineering experience in aerospace or a related industry, with at least 5 years in program or team leadership roles
Specific experience in pressure, temperature, and/or speed sensors used in turbofan engines and/or space rocketry
Proven experience managing complex engineering programs through the entire life cycle

Preferred

Strong knowledge of EVMS, risk management, change control, and systems engineering best practices
Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams to meet technical, budgetary, and schedule commitments
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage customers and leadership effectively
Experience with CORE, or continuous improvement initiatives is a plus
