Laboratory Technical Asst II - VL Pathology

The University of Texas Medical Branch is seeking a Laboratory Technical Assistant II for the VL Pathology department. The role involves providing technical skills in performing routine laboratory tests and maintaining laboratory supplies and equipment.

Responsibilities

Prepares and maintains laboratory supplies, specimens, and equipment
Prepares a variety of chemicals, solutions, and reagents
May feed, care, and prepare laboratory animals for experimentation
Participates in medical or scientific experiments
Collects specimens to be used for diagnostic purposes
Prepares and stains slides for microscopic analysis
Performs quality control procedures
Assists in maintaining records of inventory and maintenance
Aids in the instruction of students and medical personnel in laboratory procedures
Adheres to internal controls established for department
Performs related duties as required

Required

High school graduation or equivalent and two years of experience

Preferred

Prior experience with inventory management or supply chain
