Responsibilities
Verifies, documents and maintains all information used in calculation and delivery of radiation doses given to patients
Analyzes and evaluates equipment performance used in the delivery of radiation therapy
Provides technical assistance and clinical support to Consultant staff and Allied health personnel as needed
Remains current in treatment techniques and applicable medical physics practice
Provides instruction to residents, dosimetry staff, therapy staff, pre and postdoctoral students
Develops, and performs quality assurance procedures and monitors radiation output, mechanical integrity and safety of equipment used in radiation therapy
Remains current on Federal, State, and Institutional safety guidelines
Qualification
Required
M.S., M.M.P., D.M.P., or Ph.D. in Medical Physics or a master's and/or doctoral degree in Physics or a related field
American Board of Radiology, Therapeutic Medical Physics certification or equivalent
Three years post-degree clinical medical physics experience
Is expected to be credentialed in most procedures practiced in our clinic
Certified by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) in Therapeutic Radiologic Physics and/or the American Board of Medical Physics (ABMP) in Radiation Oncology Physics
