Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day construction activities for highway, bridge, and roadway infrastructure projects
Ensure all work complies with VDOT specifications, standards, and permitting requirements
Oversee contractors, subcontractors, field crews, and inspectors to maintain quality workmanship and schedule adherence
Review engineering plans, drawings, and project documentation to ensure constructability and accuracy
Monitor project budgets, track costs, and support change order development
Coordinate with engineering teams, utility companies, local municipalities, and VDOT representatives
Manage traffic control planning, detours, MOT (Maintenance of Traffic), and ensure the safety of the traveling public
Prepare and deliver project reports, daily logs, and progress updates
Qualification
Required
7+ years related work experience
Strong knowledge of VDOT roadway design and construction standards
