Responsibilities

Design of heating, ventilation, air-conditioning (HVAC) and plumbing systems serving heavy commercial, industrial, and power industries

Working knowledge of fire protection systems to support specification development, code review and basic suppression design

Perform equipment sizing, thermal load, ductwork sizing, piping pressure loss, potable water, and sanitary calculations

Develop procurement specifications, prepare engineering drawings such as piping and instrument diagrams (P&ID), airflow diagrams, plumbing riser diagrams, equipment plan, piping orthographic and ductwork layout drawings

Develop material and workhour estimates as needed to support proposal development

Exercise sound engineering judgment in assessing problem situations or complex issues, review completed work to ensure accuracy and compliance with codes and design criteria
