Responsibilities
Assist in drafting and proofreading legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, and memos
Conduct preliminary legal research and summarize findings for attorney / paralegal review
Organize and maintain physical and digital case files, prepare exhibits for meetings, and track deadlines
File legal documents with courts and administrative agencies and help with general case preparation
Communicate with attorneys, internal teams, and vendors to gather information
Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to legal protocols
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree required; intentions of attending law school
Customarily has 0-2 years of relevant experience. Must be willing to make a two-year commitment
Strong research and analytical skills: Ability to conduct thorough research and critically analyze legal texts
Proficiency with legal databases
Excellent writing and communication skills: Capable of writing clear, professional legal documents and communicating findings effectively
Attention to detail: A high level of accuracy is critical for legal work
Time management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
Confidentiality: Must maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive legal information
Flexibility to work outside regular business hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed
Preferred
Familiarity with legal citation: Knowledge of legal citation formats, such as the Bluebook, is a plus
Experience with platforms like Westlaw and LexisNexis is often required
