Engineering Manager, Global Engineering

Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of project engineers and managers, fostering a culture of high performance and professional growth
Promote a collaborative and innovative team environment, encouraging continuous improvement and knowledge sharing
Allocate resources effectively to meet operational and project goals
Conduct performance appraisals, set goals, and align objectives with departmental and organizational goals
Develop and manage the capital expenditure budget, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and financial constraints
Identify, evaluate, and prioritize capital projects, preparing detailed business cases and justifications for approval
Oversee the full lifecycle of capital projects, from concept and feasibility through design, procurement, installation, and commissioning
Support and manage AFE (Authorization for Expenditure) approvals, capex tracking and process facilitation
Prepare, manage, and monitor project budgets, forecasts, and financial reports
Track expenditures, implement cost control measures, and support financial audits
Provide monthly and quarterly Capex/project updates and presentations to local and corporate teams
Detail reviews and support to engineering projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards
Utilize project management methodologies and tools to track progress, manage risks, and communicate status to stakeholders
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, finance, and procurement, to ensure seamless project execution
Provide technical leadership and expertise in the design, development, and implementation of engineering solutions
Coordinate with internal stakeholders (operations, maintenance, finance, procurement, EHS) and external engineering firms and contractors
Stay current with technological advancements and industry trends, integrating relevant innovations into projects and processes
Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure project success and team performance
Prepare and present regular reports on project status, financial performance, and engineering activities to senior management

Required

Bachelor's degree in Engineering required (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related field)
Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in engineering with hands-on project experience in manufacturing environment, including at least 5 years in a managerial role
Proven experience in managing capital expenditure projects and project management
Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) and tools
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Proficiency in engineering software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Project)
The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR)
The candidate selected will have to qualify as either a U.S. citizen, a U.S. National, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., a Person Admitted into the U.S. as an Asylee or Refugee., a National of a country that is not prohibited from having access to U.S. controlled technology (via a letter of assurance), or a Person to be approved for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction

Professional Engineer (PE) license, Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, or equivalent is a plus
