The Manufacturing Engineer/CNC Programmer will provide engineering support for CNC operations, develop machining processes, and create effective CNC programs while ensuring quality and efficiency in production.

Responsibilities
Provide engineering support for all plant CNC operations
Communicate to the Manufacturing Engineer Manager the need for CNC programs as necessary
Define the operation process plan to determine best machine based on efficiency and availability
Determine operation steps/sequences for machining
Establish part zero and sequence features for machining
Determine best work holding for each sequence
Create the DPP Set-up details for each operation
Determine cutting tools from stock and evaluate inspection tools needed
Work with Manufacturing Engineer Manager to create a productive CNC program
Negotiate starting feed/speed parameters for CNC operations
Work side by side with the set-up machinist to proof out the CNC program
Generate ideas for manufacturing methodologies and plan sequences of operations for machining and assembly
Specify, design and/or procure special tooling or equipment required for customer requirements
Analyze and resolve machining and tooling issues to avoid problems
Create new or modify existing manufacturing drawings using CAD methodology
Value engineer existing products and processes to reduce cost, lead time and cycle times
Comply with all company policies/procedures and military/contractual requirements
Qualification
Required
Requires an associate degree or equivalent job experience in CNC Machining/Programming
5 years Minimum
strong manufacturing skills
CADCAM skills
blueprint reading skills (including GD&T)
communication skills
Preferred
Specific FeatureCam and Solidworks experience
