Operations Technical Manager

Responsibilities

Ensure compliance of all company policies and government regulations
Develop the annual operating plan (AOP) for the operations technical cost center and manage monthly adherence to the plan
Lead the Operations technical group consisting of Production Engineers, Subject Matter Experts, and Operations/Maintenance Coordinators
Collaborate with other departments to achieve site and company goals
Review of daily metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to optimize and improve processes
Lead, mentor, and develop the operations technical team
Manage operations technical and outage planning personnel through all aspects including staffing, organizational structure, scheduling, performance reviews, and corrective measures when applicable
Champion a culture of continuous improvement and innovation to improve site operations, people, processes, and procedures
Lead the Operations/Maintenance Coordination team to effectively schedule day-to-day equipment scheduling and outage planning/scheduling
Conduct regular Gemba walks to reinforce standards, engage operations teams, and encourage improvement opportunities
Work closely with the Sr. Operations Manager through technical support of the Operations department

Required

5 plus years of chemical manufacturing experience
2 plus years leadership (Manager, Supervisor) of direct reports
Strong background in Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field

Preferred

Master's degree in Engineering or Chemical preferred
Six-Sigma or Lean Manufacturing experience is a plus
