NEOGOV is seeking a Mechanic I to assist in the repair and maintenance of department vehicles and equipment. The role involves performing a variety of repairs and diagnostics on heavy road equipment and vehicles.

Responsibilities

Repairs and overhauls truck brakes and clutches
Repairs hydraulic and electrical systems on heavy road equipment and diesel vehicles
Performs transmission and engine repairs
Performs diagnostics, troubleshoots, and makes repairs
Performs on-the-road repairs of disabled road equipment and vehicles
Operates road equipment and vehicles for testing purposes
Maintains records of repair work done
Repairs gas-operated small engine equipment
Repairs all vehicles and equipment
Performs related work as assigned

Qualification

Automotive repair experienceHydraulic systems repairElectrical systems repairDiesel vehicle repairTexas vehicle inspector licenseFEMA certificationsValid state driver’s licenseRecord maintenanceOn-the-road repairs

Required

High School diploma or GED equivalent
Six months of automotive repair experience or closely related experience
Valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving history
Texas vehicle inspector license
FEMA 100, 200, 700 and 800 certifications
