Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) is seeking undergraduate students to support research in atmospheric, earth, and energy sciences. The role involves conducting research, analyzing data, and collaborating with engineers and scientists on various projects to further educational goals.

Responsibilities

Work with engineers, scientists, and technical staff members to provide technical and/or research support to projects in the areas relevant to atmospheric, earth, and energy sciences
Conduct research of basic complexity in assigned area, under close supervision
Gather and analyze data or information in support of scientific research
Communicate progress and results to the research group and work closely with team members to define project goals and address challenges
Perform technical assignments of a basic degree of complexity
Present work to technical audiences through presentations, posters, and written reports
Perform other duties as assigned

Required

Must be eligible to access the Laboratory in compliance with Section 3112 of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA)
Must be a continuing college or university student in good standing at an accredited institution pursuing an undergraduate degree in science, engineering, mathematics, or a closely related field
Demonstrate interest in topics of relevance to atmospheric, earth, or energy sciences, or a closely related field
Ability to apply basic engineering or scientific principles to solve technical problems
Proficient verbal and written communication skills to communicate research concepts, document work, and give technical presentations
Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team environment
Experience working with personal computers and familiarity with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
