5+ years expOneFourTwo Design Group is seeking a highly motivated Lead Structural Engineer to join their Indianapolis team. The role involves overseeing project performance and profit while ensuring effective communication with clients and technical staff, as well as managing construction administration tasks.
Responsibilities
Communicate with technical drafting staff, clients, and others outside the project team
Prepare preliminary designs for clients
Review building codes to assure proper implementation in design
Attend client meetings, coordinate with construction project managers, architect, civil, and mechanical engineers
Produce structural calculations for implementation with technical drafting staff during preparation of construction documents as well as construction
Produce construction ready design drawings coordinated with all disciplines to assure completeness and accuracy
Manage construction administration tasks such as shop drawing review, RFI responses, and coordination with the construction teams
Qualification
Required
BS or MS in Civil/Structural Engineering
5+ years of structural engineering building design experience, ideally in commercial construction
Ability to prepare structural designs for steel, concrete, masonry, light gage steel, and understanding of foundation design
Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred
Proficiency using Revit independently to create construction level structural drawings
Knowledge of analysis and design programs such as RAM Structural System, SAP2000, RISA, or another recognized 3D design packages
Professional Engineer (PE) licensure, or ability to obtain within 12 months
