Electronics/Electrical Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

Investigates equipment and product failures to identify root cause and recommend corrective actions
Specifies system components or directs modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications
Designs, develops, and tests Battery Management System (BMS) hardware for Li-ion batteries
Design and test other analog/digital devices components such as inverters, battery chargers, DC-DC converts and protection circuitry
Perform electrical analyses, circuit simulation, component sizing and selection, create electrical schematics and PCB layouts
Develop battery requirements based on spacecraft system needs in collaboration with Systems Engineers

Required

Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field, with a strong track record in electronics and embedded systems
Direct experience with production support and product/equipment RCCA
Direct hands-on experience developing complex commercial or aerospace electronic assemblies, designing custom cards and/or integrating COTS hardware
Experience with board-level development, including PCB design, prototyping, and debugging, as well as familiarity with industry-standard EDA tools and electrical test equipment (e.g. multi-meters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, network analyzers, spectrum analyzer, RF signal simulators, etc.)
Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships

Preferred

Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. Experience performing modeling and simulation of electrical and/or electrochemical systems
HV battery experience
Experience with fault tree analysis and Design Failure Mode and Effects (DFMEA) analysis for HV systems
Experience developing Inverters and DC-DC converters
Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements related to battery systems in aerospace applications
