Responsibilities

Drive and execute the strategy for email and web push notifications for breaking news, exclusives, key coverage and various California Post content verticals
Partner with editors to balance speed and editorial judgment — ensuring alerts are fast and relevant
Develop segmentation and automation strategies to serve the right alerts to the right readers
Coordinate with New York Post teams to align alert strategy and coverage priorities
Oversee the California Post’s newsletter portfolio — from launch to growth and performance optimization
Skilled at crafting compelling narrative newsletters and curating story selections that resonate with readers
Collaborate with editorial leads to define newsletter formats and content strategies
Lead email subscriber acquisition strategies (organic and paid)
Use performance data to inform content and cadence decisions
Develop experiments to test new newsletter formats, subject lines, and audience engagement tactics
Translate data into actionable insights that guide editorial and product decisions
Collaborate with the New York Post’s central audience team to share learnings, coordinate growth initiatives, and scale best practices

Required

Minimum of 5 years of experience in digital audience development and/or digital marketing
Proven success managing push and/or newsletter programs
Demonstrable track record of growing online audiences and driving email newsletter subscriptions
Hands-on experience with major ESPs, including an understanding of backend metrics, deliverability, and campaign execution
Experience with tools such as Airship, Google Analytics, and Parse.ly
Bachelor's degree required
Knowledge of digital media trends and emerging platforms
Proficiency in metrics-based decision-making, with an emphasis on reading and interpreting data
Ability to be both a self-starter and a team player; strong interpersonal and communication skills required
Ability to balance priorities and thrive in a fast-paced, start-up environment
Highly organized, with excellent attention to detail
Passion for all things digital
