Process Engineer 4
MAST Technologies is an industry leader in the development and manufacturing of advanced RF, microwave absorbing materials and specialty engineered products serving aerospace, defense, and high-performance industrial markets. They are seeking a hands-on Process Engineer 4 to drive operational excellence and support daily manufacturing operations while optimizing processes for high-quality production. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting, process monitoring, and leading continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities
Directly support daily manufacturing operations by overseeing and executing process steps on the production floor
Monitor and confirm proper setup, run parameters, and execution of each operation
Work side-by-side with operators and technicians to ensure production follows established standards, work instructions, and safety protocols
Troubleshoot process and equipment issues in real time to maintain product flow and quality
Track and document all critical process variables (temperature, time, pressure, speed, torque, material consumption, yields, cycle times, etc.) for each operation
Maintain accurate, legible, and complete production and engineering documentation
Analyze trends to identify deviations and implement corrective actions
Optimize processes to improve throughput, reduce scrap, and improve consistency and repeatability
Participate in cross-functional engineering projects involving new and repeat business
Support RFQ/RFP development and cost estimates by interpreting drawings, specifications, and supplier documentation
Assist in project planning, manufacturing handoff, and new product introduction activities
Create and revise technical documents, SOPs, and work instructions using tools such as AutoCAD or Inventor
Identify and implement Lean, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives targeting process stability, cost reduction, and production efficiency
Lead small-scale improvement projects and contribute to longer-term process roadmaps
Interface with production, quality, maintenance, planning, suppliers, and customers as needed to support technical activities and business opportunities
Provide feedback to leadership regarding bottlenecks, quality risks, and improvement opportunities
Demonstrate a high priority for workplace safety and product quality
Support compliance requirements including ISO9001, AS9100, and ITAR
Ensure proper handling of specialty chemicals and equipment
May be required to lift up to 40 lbs
Perform all other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
5-7+ years in manufacturing, aerospace, defense, chemicals, materials, or related process environments
Strong hands-on mechanical aptitude and comfort working on the production floor
Experience with AutoCAD, Inventor, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access)
Ability to track, analyze, and act on process data
Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain attention to detail under pressure
High level of professionalism, discretion, and documentation discipline
Preferred
Hands-on manufacturing or production engineering experience strongly preferred
Experience in aerospace/defense manufacturing preferred
Experience working within ISO9001/AS9100 quality systems
Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement tools a plus
Experience with PLCs, 3D modeling, and precision measurement tools beneficial
